 Gonjasufi: Stardustin (FaltyDL Remix)

Out this week Gonjasufi releases a remix LP of of his debut album A Sufi and A Killer that he made with Gaslamp Killer, titled The Caliph's Tea Party - Gonjasufi invites an eclectic array artists to re-imagine his own unique sound. A tall task for any accomplished remixer, however Gonjasufi pulls in a unique set of artists to reinterpret his songs. Mark Prichard, Brooklyn's Bear In Heaven and Oneohtrix Point Never, Young guns Shlomo and Jeremiah Jae, FaltyDL and neoloop favourite Bibio dismantle and rebuild the debut masterpiece.

When it works its pure dynamite, Bibio's remake of Candylane is a cool smoothed out soulful affair that builds into electro beat mash up, doubling the length of the original 2 minute version. Bear in Heaven take on Love of Reign and turn it into a different tune adding electro effects with a new indie edge. This track Stardustin' is transformed into a funky dance track five times longer than the original interlude version. It's another original record with plenty of different sounds to get your head around, perseverance will reap grand rewards. RECOMENDED
