I've been feeling it too.

Devendra Banhart is back with a new long-player called Mala. As usual it's a very multi-cultural affair. This track Your Fine Petting Duck (Great title for a song!) is all over the place, but in a good way, singing in English at first in a alt-folk shuffle with 60's girl-band backing vocals and then it goes off to an electro-pop direction singing in German. Spendid!

Neon Lights!

Electro-pop duo of Boom Bip and Super Furry AnimalsGruff Rhys storm back with a new album about Giangiacomo Feltrinelli, the Italian Communist allegedly killed by his own explosives in 1972. Strange subject to base a whole LP on, but don't let that put you off. Following the marvellous debut LP in 2008 about the life of disgraced car magnate John DeLorean, Neon Neon pick up from where they left off with Praxis Makes Perfect (Republic of Music). Hoops With Fidel takes on the future-retro sound bringing with it a Sébastien Tellier vibe. Let's go!

Take it for a spin, available on iTunes now click here.

Daft Disco

I love having Daft Punk back in the charts and doing what they do best with the legend Nile Rodgers. Robot heads are cool again, Nuff said.

Amygdala

DJ Koze [AKA: Stefan Kozella] releases new LP Amygdala this month and it's a complete melting-pot of quality beats and synthesised hooks. His first solo album in nine years, choice cuts include the brilliant collaborations with Matthew Dear on this track Magical Boy and My Plans, Nices Wölkchen (feat. Apparat), Track ID Anyone? (feat. Caribou), the unique lament Das Wort (feat. Dirk von Lowtzow), easy beats and pop-hook of Homesick (feat. Ada), chopping beats of instrumental La Duquesa and the power serge of Ich schreib' dir ein Buch 2013 (DJ Koze vs. Hildegard Knef) is amazing. Auroville is as mad as a hatter! Highly Recommended.

THR!!!ER!!!

Only heard this the other day, a stonking return to funk-up the dance floor from !!!. Still has that signature sound we've always loved since Louden Up Now LP. Slyd sounds like the big sister to Me And Giuliani Down By The Schoolyard (A True Story).

It features vocals from Molly Schnick, who used to be in Out Hud with !!!'s Nic Offer, as well as Teresa Eggers. It certainly has a flavour of classic Out Hud track - How long.

Good to hear new shit from the New Yorkers!

New LP THR!!!ER (great title!!!)is out April 29 in the UK.

Warm-up with some blistering beats

Footprintz stroll into the summer with some of the most sun drenched beats I've heard all year. Having already delighted us with nu-disco hits of huge singles Utopia, Dangers of the Mouth and The Favourite Game their debut album Escape Yourself is a sure fire hit this year. It's an album bursting at the seams with catchy hooks - The Things That Last Forever, The Invisible, Uncertain Change, The Fear of Numbers and scorcher Zanzibar all adding to a quality LP along with the singles. Clarian North and Adam Hunter have been making music together since high school. You can feel the warmth of the sun on your skin with very beat. A utopian delight from start to finish, highly recommended.
