This catchy little tune from Está Vivo is making some waves online. African Run sounds like a cross between Devendra Banhart and Caetano Veloso with a voice like Frank Zappa. A free-spirited folk tune with a tropical edge, a simple riff with an infectious beat. Ryan McMahon previously toured with a band known as Bearries out of Chicago playing live electronica opening up for acts such as Justice and Telle. Following the demise of that short lived touring band in 2010 McMahon now makes his own solo music under the name Está Vivo. Check out his bandcamp and MySpace pages for some more great tunes.
French electro-pop composer Yuksek's Always On The Run remixed by Tom Furse from the Horrors, blends elements of both acts’ sounds in a building booming dance tracks shimmering with synth flourishes and echoing vocals.
Born Pierre-Alexander Busson, Yuksek crafts decadent dance tracks with irresistible pop centers: meticulously plotted creations that no doubt owe their refinement to the Frenchman’s classical training. He’s also cut tracks with New York's Chromeo and Amanda Blank. Giving Justice a run for their money! Latest album Living on the Edge of Time is available now on iTunes.

Olympiske Leker's Afrobeat percussion, electro-pop synths and quirky glockenspiels make-up a brilliantly colourful sound. Aabenbaringen over Aaskammen is the perfect sunshine-dappled easy going soundtrack to the summer with sprinklings of Balearic flavourings and breezy pop melodies. Ha, this song is quite cheesy but it makes me smile every time I here it. Frank Ocean is pretty hot property nowadays following his Nostalgia-Ultra mixtape from last year. Freestyling over The Eagles Hotel California and Coldplay sounds like a bad idea till you hear it. Now Frank is writing and appearing on tunes for big time artist like Beyonce et all.
I love all the tracks he that features on Jay Z and Kanyes Watch the Throne album. If you haven't already download Nostalgia-Ultra mixtape get it now as it is a one of the best of last year with only The Weeknd scoring higher.
Odd Future cohort Frank Ocean is set to release lots of new stuff this year with a a full debut album in the works plus an appearance on Kanye West's forthcoming compilation album due in the spring.
